About

Amaya Batiza – Coach, Weightlifter, and Certified Personal Trainer.

I’ve spent 20 years of my life as a competitive swimmer. This instilled in me a love and fascination for human movement. It is absolutely incredible to see what the human body is capable of and I love helping people to reach their full potential. I have ten years of coaching experience in a wide variety of environments. I have taught swim lessons to people ranging in age from babies to adults. I worked as a CrossFit coach and corporate wellness provider for Google where I was able to practice and expand my interest for human movement. I obtained a bachelors of the arts in Spanish and am currently attending St. Mary’s College of CA to pursue my masters degree in Kinesiology. Some of my main principles as a trainer are overall wellness, including mental health, nutrition and providing uplifting, injury preventing workouts. My current passion and main form of training is powerlifting but I still enjoy a nice swim in the sun or jumping in to join a crossfit class. I founded WHEN Fitness in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. I saw how lost and unhealthy many of my friends and family members were getting during shelter in place, and wanted to provide options for people who felt hopeless and powerless. WHEN Fitness is here to provide remote wellness, health, exercise and nutrition services to anyone and everyone.
